Enable Task Manager in Windows 7

To enable Task Manager in Window 7, first we need to enable "registry"

Step 1: Steps to enable registry:
  • Goto RUN ( type RUN in START search in window 7) (shortcut=windows+R)
    run command to block websites
  • In RUN, type "gpedit.msc"

  • A Local Group Policy tab will appear. Perform the task as follows:
  • Click on User Configuration-> Administrative Templates->System
  • On right side, Double Click on "Prevent access to registry editing tools"

  • "A Prevent access to registry editing tools" tab will appear, just select "Not Configured" option. Click on "Apply"select not configured in Registry editor tool

Step 2: Now we can enable Task Manager:
  • Again goto "RUN"(windows+R), type "regedit". A "Registry Editor" tab will appear.
  • Through the left hand navigation pane, navigate to:-HKEY_CURRENT_USER->SOFTWARE->MICROSOFT->WINDOWS->CURRENT VERSION->POLICIES->SYSTEM
  • On right hand side find "DisableTaskMgr" . If you can't see "DisableTaskMgr" on right hand side then you have to create it.
  • To create right click there & select NEW->D-WORD (32bit) Value

  • Rename "New Value #1" as "DisableTaskMgr"
  • Double Click on "DisableTaskMgr", a Edit DWORD window will pop up.
  • Enter Value Data as"0" and press OK (0 to enable & 1 to disable)

  • Close "Registry Editor". 
  • Restart your Compuer. Now you can access your "Task Manager".
